2.5x Amazon Revenue Growth in 3 Years for a Leading Sport Sock Brand
+60%
growth in Amazon shipped revenue (2023)
+49%
growth in Amazon shipped revenue (2024)
2.5x
increase in total shipped revenue

We partnered with a UK-based distributor of athletic socks to grow their Amazon Vendor Central account in a highly competitive environment. Despite limited access to brand assets, low price points, and significant competition from third-party resellers, the business achieved exceptional results.
Over three years, the brand’s Amazon-shipped revenue more than doubled, growing from under £200k in 2021 to just under £500k in 2024. Amazon shipped revenue grew consistently over three consecutive years: +46% in 2022, +60% in 2023, and +49% in 2024. This represented a 2.5x increase in total shipped revenue compared to the 2021 baseline. The performance was driven by a carefully executed strategy focused on product selection, listing optimisation, and advertising efficiency.

Objectives and Market Challenges
Although there were no fixed numerical targets, our key objectives were clear: maximise Amazon sell-out and Buy Box win rates, increase sell-in volume by boosting demand, and improve profitability through higher average selling prices (ASP). However, the market posed several challenges. The brand was operating in a category saturated with third-party sellers offering the same products, meaning Buy Box competition was fierce. Additionally, nearly half of the product range was priced below £10, limiting margin potential. The client also had limited access to high-quality creative assets — a common barrier when trying to optimize customer experience on Amazon.
Strategy: Selection, Optimisation, and Smart Spend
To overcome these challenges, we took a structured, multi-pronged approach. First, we addressed the product selection. By bundling products into multipacks, we increased the ASP and created a more differentiated offering that reduced direct competition. Single-pack listings were gradually phased out to encourage customers to shift their purchasing behaviour towards higher-value options.
In parallel, we implemented a full-scale SEO and listing optimisation project. We identified the key USPs of each product type and enhanced listings with improved copy and visual content. We took great care to ensure all assets were meticulously aligned with the broader brand guidelines, demonstrating our deep respect for established brand identities. We also conducted in-depth keyword research to ensure each listing targeted high-traffic, relevant search terms that aligned with the customer journey.
Advertising strategy was equally targeted. We launched brand defence campaigns to secure top-of-search positions and protected high-converting SKUs from competitor bidding. Ad budgets were focused on the strongest-performing parent listings — those that had a clear edge in pricing, reviews, or variation depth. Our approach balanced long-term visibility with short-term performance, ensuring sustainable growth without overspending.
Results
By 2024, the combined effect of these strategies had produced remarkable results. Organic sales grew by 53% year-on-year and were responsible for 82% of the total shipped revenue growth, despite a 39% increase in advertising spend. This shows the impact of laying a solid foundation before scaling paid media.

Shipped costs of goods sold (COGs) rose by 90% year-on-year in 2024, reaching approximately £260k — over three times higher than in 2021. Meanwhile, shipped units climbed from around 19,000 in 2021 to approximately 74,000 in 2024, reflecting a 315% increase in volume. Traffic also nearly doubled in 2024, with an 80% uplift in glance views, while the conversion rate held steady at an impressive 26.5%, demonstrating that listing improvements were effective in maintaining conversion despite the higher exposure.
Several SKUs earned Best Seller tags in their category, including top-5 rankings for high-demand terms like “Men’s Athletic Socks.” These achievements helped reinforce credibility and drove continued organic visibility and conversion.
What Other Brands Can Learn
This case study demonstrates the importance of getting the basics right before scaling paid efforts. Optimising product listings for search, relevance, and trust not only improves organic performance — it also sets the stage for more efficient advertising. Many brands focus on paid media first, but this case shows that sustainable growth is best achieved when organic and paid strategies are aligned.
Another critical piece of the puzzle was our product selection strategy. By being smart about the products we chose to sell — aligning closely with consumer demand and prioritising profitability — we created a win-win for both the business and Amazon. This strategic alignment ensured that every product had the potential to perform, making our organic and paid efforts more impactful.
The key takeaway? Focus on customer experience and listing fundamentals before turning up the ad spend. That’s how you create a growth flywheel that scales efficiently and consistently on Amazon.
